Another free programme from Business in the Arts:North West
Did you know that you can get advice on a number of issues with a minimum of paperwork by using BIA:NW’s Quick Fix programme?
Cultural organisations and individuals working in the not for profit arts and creative industries fields can get free advice on things like intellectual property, contracts, IT, employment law and company/charity registration through this service.
To date the majority of Quick Fixes have been to do with legal matters, and professionals from firms such as DWF LLP, Mace & Jones and Cobbetts have assisted. We are working to increase the scope of advice topics and the number of advisers available for this service so that we can deal with enquiries as swiftly as possible by directing them promptly to the appropriate adviser.
The process is very simple: if you have a specific enquiry or issue on which you need guidance, download an enquiry form by clicking here, complete it and return it to dorothy@bianw.demon.co.uk. We will acknowledge your enquiry and let you know if you are eligible to receive support. We will then forward the enquiry to a suitable adviser. You may need to meet with the adviser once or twice, or it may be possible to complete the Quick Fix by telephone or e-mail – depending upon the complexity of the issue.
If the issue is too complex or lengthy for a Quick Fix, we will invite you to apply to the Skills Bank programme which provides the opportunity to work with an adviser over a number of months.
